Smoking

Tobacco comes in many different sizes and shapes. It is a dark brown leaf that is rolled into some paper as a cigarette or rolled in the form of a cigar. Smoking it can be dangerous because it can harm your lungs by getting it infected. This bad habbit of smoking tobacco could make you die young. Tobacco costs a lot of money, which you could spend on your family. Tobacco is addictive and it is very hard to quit smoking.
One of the reasons why people smoke, is to get rid of anger and depression. Some people say it helps them relax. Lots of people smoke, even some kids do. About 1.3 million people smoke each day and so the tobacco industries get a lot of money.
Smoking is bad. Tobacco should not be advertised because it is killing people and it cost a lot of money. Because you can only buy tobacco when you are over 18, young people pretend to be. When they get caught by the police the person who sold it to them will be taken to court.

Even though tobacco is readily available on shelves, we as young people should try our best to keep away from this bad habbit of smoking. It is expensive and harmful.

My Favourite Hobby

I have many hobbies, but the best one out of all is hanging out with my friends. The reason why I picked this hobby is because it is fun and I really enjoy myself.
Who are my friends? My friends are Leona, Issabel, Jessica, Glydia, Barbara, and Ola. We all go to the same school and we’re all in the same class. We all like to do everything together as one.
They are always happy, sporty, funny and active people. They have guts and I know I could trust them. Friends like that are like family to you and they are there for you when you need them.
We spend time together whenever we get the opportunity to do so. We help each other with anything. Everyday my friends and I like to hang out, and talk about the good things that have happened to us.
Our other common interest is playing rugby together because that is our favourite sport. When we are out playing rugby, we try our best to show everybody how tough we are.

Why do we have to wear helmets?

Bike helmets are a head gear that protects your head. It comes in many shapes sizes and colours. In New Zealand you will have to wear a helmet because it is the law.
Children should wear helmets because it’s for their own safety. If a child falls off the bike going down the hill, he could crack his head which could give him brain damage or even kill him. Most kids are against it because it might spoil their nice hairstyles, but when they actually fall off they will wish that they had worn it.
Most schools allow students to bring their bikes to school but on the condition that they wear a helmet when they ride it. This makes them not bring their bikes to school.
Helmets are a must if people want to be safe. I say that we should all wear helmets and be safe.

My Family

There are three words to describe my family. They are incredible, fantastic and sporty. In my family there are eight people. They are my father, mother, four brothers, my sister and I. My parents were born and raised in the beautiful island of Tonga then they came to New Zealand to start a new life for us.
We live at Roseway place, just off Ridgeway. Our extreme 4 bedroom house with a big back yard is near Sacred Heart and Glendowie. It’s a good area because we can walk down to shops, go to parks and go for walks around the block. It was a peaceful place where there is no screaming, yelling, or people chucking stones. There are just normal children chatting or wandering around the streets.
We moved there last year on October the 26th. We moved there because we were living with our uncle and aunt as an extended family and we wanted more privacy for us and for them as well. We enjoy each other’s company.
